Senior Software Developer (Messaging Platform) (Remote Romania) Full Time

We are looking for a backend developer to join our growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to become a member of the 8×8 engineering team that is involved in the entire life cycle of development, from the browser to the database.
You will be part of the team that owns software platform that allows collaboration through instant messaging and powers a customized publish and subscribe ability for 8×8 products.
If you enjoy working on highly performant serverside technologies, in a cloud environment, building APIs, testing, deploying, troubleshooting, fine tuning with keen focus on production stability and uptime this opportunity is perfect for you.
Responsibilities:

- Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle
- Write well designed, testable, efficient code
- Ensure designs are in compliance with specifications
- Prepare and produce releases of software components
- Support Continuous Improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review
Qualifications:
-

- Prior exposure or a strong interest in functional programming
- Proven experience building serverside technologies using Elixir, Erlang, C++ or Java
- Strong technical skills on designing and building n-tier web services
- Very good understanding of database technologies such as Postgres or MySQL
- Writing automated tests and knowledge of secure coding practices
- Solid understanding and hands on experience in cloud computing
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills; ability to work independently and with others

- Programming with Elixir/Erlang
- Programming with JavaScript using node.js
- Agile methodologies
